BOARD AND COMMITTEE VACANCIES

WEED AND PEST BOARD MEMBER INTEREST APPLICATION FORM
The Weed and Pest Board consists of 7 members, one of which is a County Commissioner. Each member is appointed to serve a term of 3 years. This appointment will fill a vacancy for a term that runs through 2023. Any citizen of Lake County is eligible to be a member. Duties include: Implement and pursue effective program for control of weed and pests; hold regular meetings (2-3 a year); submit an annual report to the Department of Agriculture and county commission; make at least one annual inspection; obtain competitive bids for chemicals, equipment, and labor.

MENTAL HEALTH BOARD INTEREST APPLICATION FORM
The Mental Health Board consists of an attorney who is appointed by the Circuit Court and sits as the chair and two other persons appointed by the board of county commissioners to serve a term of 3 years. Any citizen of Lake County is eligible to be a member. Duties include: Jurisdiction over all applications or petitions for involuntary commitment, for the treatment of any involuntarily committed person, or for the safekeeping otherwise of any person subject to involuntary commitment within its county.
NOTE: This is a relatively inactive board as most hearings are conducted in other counties. However, the county would like to keep board positions filled in the rare event that a hearing may need to be conducted in Lake County.
