EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – CORRECTIONAL OFFICER (MALE APPLICANTS ONLY - FULL TIME)

Salary: $17.35 per hour DOEQ, with an additional $.75 shift differential from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Sign-on Bonus: $2,000 total bonus paid in three installments during the first two years of employment

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age and not have any felony convictions which would prohibit the applicant from obtaining certification as a Correctional Officer.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous corrections experience is desirable, but not required.

Description:This is a bona fide occupational qualification announcement limited to male applicants only. Candidates for this position must be able to respond to emergency situations in the jail, provide medical assistance including CPR, dispense medications, complete bookings, fingerprints, and perform additional duties as assigned. Hours to be determined, but may include nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts could be rotating. Successful candidates must submit to a complete background investigation and drug screening prior to conditional offer of employment.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – FIELD APPRAISER

Salary: Uncertified starts at $15.35; Certified starts at $16.60

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Previous real estate and/or construction experience. One year of increasingly responsible related experience. Comparable combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must obtain a CAA (Certified Appraiser Assessor) designation through the South Dakota Department of Revenue within one year from the date of hire. Recertification is required every five years.

Description: This position works under the general supervision of the Director of Equalization. This position is responsible for independently performing full working level technical and professional appraising work in establishing real property values for tax assessment purposes.

PUBLIC SNOW REMOVAL NOTICE

NOTICE: An individual who plows snow from a driveway onto a public road, or plows snow from a driveway across a public road piling it in the ditch, may be in violation of a SD law that prohibits dumping on or within highway right-of-ways. Intentional dumping on a highway right-of-way is a Class 1 misdemeanor. This may also be a violation of a SD law that prohibits the destruction of a highway grade or ditch, which is a Class 2 misdemeanor.

LAKE COUNTY OPENS UP APPLICATIONS FOR ARPA GRANTS TO NONPROFITS
